Who I See at Dragonfly Menopause Care

At Dragonfly Menopause Care, I see a wide range of women—from those in their late 30s starting to notice subtle changes of perimenopause, to women in their 60s who wonder if they’ve “missed the boat” on hormone therapy but are still hoping to feel better. Wherever you are in your menopause journey, you are not too early, too late, or too complex for care. You are welcome here.

Some of the patients I care for include:

  • Women preparing for perimenopause who are symptom-free but want to learn what to expect and how to stay ahead of the changes that come with midlife.

  • Women with bothersome symptoms—hot flashes, brain fog, fatigue, low libido, weight gain, anxiety, joint pain—who feel like themselves slipping away and want to feel better again.

  • Women unsure about hormone therapy, who want a thoughtful, evidence-based discussion of their options. Some aren’t ready for HRT, and that’s okay. I’ll provide education and support so they can return if or when they’re ready.

  • Women seeking long-term health benefits, such as osteoporosis prevention, cardiovascular support, or dementia risk reduction. Even in the absence of symptoms, many want to talk about how HRT might play a role in healthy aging.

  • Women who’ve been told they’re “not a candidate” for HRT, often due to complex medical history. If that’s you—I’d love to review the latest evidence and help you understand your options. Every woman deserves accurate information and autonomy in her care.

Special populations I care deeply about:

  • Breast and gynecologic cancer survivors, including women currently on treatments like aromatase inhibitors. These women are often told hormones are entirely off the table, but the reality is more nuanced—and you deserve to know all your options.

  • Women with a history of blood clots or Factor V Leiden, who want guidance on whether HRT is safe or appropriate for them.

  • Women with BRCA mutations, including those who have had prophylactic mastectomy or oophorectomy and want to understand their options for symptom relief and long-term health.

  • “DES daughters”, who have a higher risk of cervical, vaginal, and breast cancers and often feel forgotten in the menopause conversation.

  • Women with heart disease, who want help navigating the risks and benefits of treatment based on their unique history.

If you don’t see your specific medical condition listed here, that doesn’t mean HRT is off the table for you. It simply means we need to review your individual history and talk through the risks, benefits, and available options together. Every woman’s situation is unique—and you deserve a thoughtful, personalized approach to your care.

Sometimes women present to my clinic with very complex medical histories—and that is where I am especially grateful for my 15 years in practice doing hospital medicine, family medicine, and emergency medicine. Menopause affects all women at some point, and no woman deserves to be left out without options—whether that means HRT or alternatives to HRT. My practice is designed in such a way that I am allowed to take the time you deserve so that we can come up with a treatment plan that feels right to you.

No patient is too straightforward, either. Hormones are not simple—they are not one-size-fits-all. In fact, my younger patients often require more nuanced, thoughtful approaches that sometimes involve a bit of trial and error. There are no truly “straightforward” patients when it comes to menopause care—and that’s why individualized attention matters so much.

Finally, once a treatment plan has commenced, I insist that if patients are having concerns, they reach out to me. I am available. We always schedule a follow-up visit, but sometimes adjustments are needed between appointments. I never want a patient to worry or wonder about hormone side effects or ongoing symptoms. This is why I practice the way I do—lengthy initial consults filled with education and focused specifically on you. This is what you deserve.

If you’re wondering whether menopause care is right for you, I’d be honored to meet you, talk through your story, and help you feel like yourself again.
