Who I See at Dragonfly Menopause Care

Updated: Oct 19

At Dragonfly Menopause Care, I see a wide range of women—from those in their late 30s beginning to notice subtle perimenopausal changes, to women in their 60s and beyond who wonder if they’ve “missed the boat” on hormone therapy but still want to feel better.

Wherever you are in your menopause journey, you are not too early, too late, or too complex for care. You are welcome here.

Smiling women of diverse ages and ethnicities

Some of the women I care for include

Women preparing for perimenopause

Those who feel well but want to stay ahead of midlife changes. We talk about what’s coming, how to optimize health, and how to use hormones, nutrition, and lifestyle medicine to stay vibrant.

Women with bothersome symptoms

Hot flashes, brain fog, fatigue, low libido, weight gain, anxiety, and joint pain can make you feel like yourself is slipping away. These symptoms are not “just part of getting older”—and you deserve to feel better.

Women unsure about hormone therapy

Some women aren’t ready for HRT, and that’s okay. I offer evidence-based education and support so you can make informed choices at your own pace.

Women focused on long-term health

Even without symptoms, many want to discuss hormone therapy for prevention—protecting bone density, cardiovascular health, and brain function.

Women told they’re “not candidates” for HRT

If that’s you, let’s talk. The evidence has evolved, and many women who were once told “no” have safe, individualized options. Every woman deserves accurate information and autonomy in her care.

Special populations I care deeply about

  • Breast and gynecologic cancer survivors (including those on aromatase inhibitors). The conversation around hormones is more nuanced than “yes or no,” and you deserve to understand your options.

  • Women with a history of blood clots or Factor V Leiden, who benefit from careful consideration of transdermal versus oral hormone options.

  • Women with BRCA mutations, especially those who’ve had prophylactic surgery and are navigating surgical menopause.

  • “DES daughters,” who have higher risks for certain cancers and often feel forgotten in menopause discussions.

  • Women with heart disease, for whom transdermal estrogen may be beneficial when prescribed thoughtfully.

  • Women over 65, who can still consider HRT when the benefits outweigh the risks.

If your medical history isn’t listed here, that doesn’t mean hormone therapy is off the table. It simply means we’ll take time to review your individual history and find a plan that fits.

My approach

Through advanced training and ongoing certification in personalized (functional) medicine, I’ve come to deeply appreciate that hormones never act in isolation. Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, pregnenolone, cortisol, thyroid hormones, and insulin all interact in ways that profoundly affect how you feel and how your body ages.

I recently completed advanced hormone training in October 2025, and this has further transformed the way I practice. I now offer salivary and blood testing for hormones, four-point cortisol rhythm testing, and comprehensive thyroid panels when indicated. Sometimes the best plan includes compounded estradiol/estriol (biest) for added breast and bone protection, and bioidentical progesterone—even for women without a uterus—for its calming, neuroprotective, bone, breast, and metabolic benefits.

Once hormone therapy has been steady for about six months, I often recommend taking a one-day-per-week break from estrogen—using it six days per week instead of daily. This small change can help keep estrogen receptors responsive and may support better brain health and overall hormone balance.

I also emphasize the importance of stress physiology, nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Balancing cortisol, supporting adrenal health, and maintaining insulin sensitivity are key parts of successful midlife care.

My background

After 15 years in family, hospital, and emergency medicine, I founded Dragonfly Menopause Care to do medicine differently—slower, deeper, and more personal. My goal is to provide you with time, education, and options so you can make informed decisions that truly support your health and well-being.

Whether your situation is complex or straightforward, my priorities are the same:

  • Listen deeply.

  • Educate fully.

  • Create a plan that feels right for you.

Staying connected

Once your plan begins, I encourage you to reach out if you have questions or side effects. You don’t need to wait until your next visit—sometimes small adjustments make a big difference. I want every patient to feel supported, confident, and never left wondering.

If you’re wondering whether menopause care is right for you

I’d be honored to meet you, hear your story, and help you feel like yourself again. These can truly be your best years yet.
